New Year's Eve Bash at 8pm

Good fancy dress turnout this year. A big Thank You to the usual organisers.

Tue 18th Dec - Carol Singing

Start at the Sardeson's and finish at the Scott's. Ring Liz for details.

Sat 1st December 7 for 7.30 - Chine Supper

Adults £5, Ch £3, family £15 (2+2) at the Reading Room. Alternative to chine available for all you townies. Always popular to get into the festive season, book early. Tickets from Liz, Jean or Len.

Monday 3rd December - Bingo

 7 for 7.30pm start

Fri 30th November 6pm - Christmas Bazaar

If you are interested in having a stall, contact any committee member asap. Also donations of cakes, raffle prizes greatly appreciated. This is a fund raising event, please come and support.

Thu 29th November 7.30pm - A garland of Carols

Tickets £4 adults, £3 concessions, £12 family (2+2). There are a maximum of 80 tickets. This should be good event performed by a professional singing group, please order your tickets soon. Mulled wine and minced pies will be available, so let's get into the festive season!

Autumn seems longer this year with the trees still holding on to the leaves. This picture taken on 22nd Nov shows one of the great oak trees, with a span of over 150feet, situated at the old gardens of the Dower House.

St Andrews Church. New group of singers with songs from the shows.

Traditional childrens' games; cake stalls, teas; bric-a -brac. The rain stopped 15 minutes before the event and another successful fete was had by us all.

Saturday 30th June - ANGORA RABBIT MEETING AND SHOW

Rabbit show 2pm Admission free. A DISCO PLUS PIE AND PEA SUPPER Will follow in the evening £3 per ticket see Dennis or Sandra Sutton for details.

Sunday 24th June- MIDSUMMER BBQ

1 pm onwards at the playing field. Food and soft drinks will be available for sale.

Saturday 2nd June - COFFEE, CAKE AND PLANT SALE

1pm until 7pm at Mr and Mrs Cooks, Whitehaven, Main Street. Also Bric a Brac, wine tasting and chlidren's face painting. Proceeds will go towards a new carpet for the church in memory of Pat Harris.

ST GEORGE'S DAY 21 ST APRIL. 
Medieval night 

Trick of the Squirrel are three entertainers who provided music and games with a Medieval theme.  Fancy Dress was optional.  This was a good evening with full entertainment, and you didn't have to drive because it was in the Reading Room.  It was great fun, but not much was raised as anticipated.

Spring craft fair


It was a well attended event with over £200 raised. The sun came out and the temperatures were more Spring like.  There were stalls for spinning, wine making (picturted left), woodturning, furniture restoration, bookstall, gardening ornaments, children's corner, pick a poem and Margaret's home made butterscotch.  BYGONE BABIES COMPETITION!  Guess who's who!  Refreshments.  All money raised went towards the Tapestry project, which was on Display.  Cakes and book donations were gratefully received.

Educating Rita

The Leeds library touring company performed the play 'Educating Rita' at 7.30pm in the Reading Room.

Bingo at the Reading Room at 7pm. All welcome.

Burns night

Traditional haggis and neeps with the popular Higgledy Piggledy ceilidh band. Bar applied for. Tickets £8. A sell out event having grown popular every year.
